120 get to know you questions (fun, deep and easy to answer)
Good get to know you questions are easy to answer and invite a story. The trick is to start light, listen, and let the other person’s answers tell you where to go next. The questions below are grouped from easy to deeper, so you can move down the list as the conversation warms up.
How to use them without it feeling like an interview
- Ask one question, then follow up on the answer before asking a new one.
- Answer your own question too. “Mine would be…” turns a quiz into a conversation.
- Pick questions that fit the moment. A work lunch and a late-night chat need different questions.
- Respect a short answer. If someone does not want to go into a topic, move on.
